Hopefully we share a love of writing, reading, and my favourite: day- dreaming.  I get carried away daily, in whatever direction my mood is facing.

Headlines in the paper? I’m thinking conspiracy theories.

An unusual grouping of large clouds? It’s obvious space ships are parked up there

An endless winter? Well, I live in Calgary — who could blame me for thinking that might happen

A vivid imagination can be bothersome, an impressionable one lethal.  Forty years after watching The Haunting of Hill House, I still keep my house well-lit at night.

About five years ago I took a class at the Alexandra Writers Centre and met an inspiring group of writers.  Ultimately we became The Corner Lot; one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Movies influence me more than books, but books teach me how to write.

Fantasy sci-fi blend is my absolute favourite.  Magic and world-building keeps me reading all night.  I love a good villain.

Not the slasher profile, but the intelligent I’m going to manipulate you to death villain.  Think Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs. (Do you think the author picked Hannibal because it rhymes with cannibal?  Has anyone seen Signs?  It’s hard to beat that movie for suspense and tension.  I love the scene with the tinfoil hats.

My first novel, Deadly Nightshade, is a work-in-progress.

I’m currently self-isolating with my very patient husband, and three furry friends.  I battle daily with my arch enemy: the scale. And my super-power is my ability to overlook clutter.

Hope you are staying safe and happy in this crazy world of ours.
